Happy Birthday to me. :)

Jeff & my mom convinced me to take the day off and do something fun. And to be honest... I totally forgot my birthday was coming because we were getting ready for our family reunion.

The plan at first was to go to the zoo... but then we finally found a car that we fell in love with & spent the entire day replacing the windshield, getting it registered and all that fun stuff.

And I have decided to take on a personal challenge.

For YEARS I have looked forward to turning 22. It is my favorite number, so of course, since this is my 22nd year of birth I want to live it up as much as possible (I mean I am doing incredible things this year... like getting married to my best friend!).

My blog is titled "Good Mornin' Life" -- I believe that every day is a day to be celebrated and appreciated. Every day is a brand new day to conquer and enjoy! My plan is to each day search for things that I appreciate, enjoy, and love, then document it here on my blog to share with you. Realistically... blogging every day for me... well... isn't realistic. At least 4 times a week I hope to share these things with you.

To kick this challenge off and to start my creative juices flowing, my first documentation is of these two:

Rarely (if not ever) would you not see either of these two in my text conversation feed, or call log for the day. They both are my favorite people on the earth, and that is not an exaggeration. My mom is my rock and my "go-to" gal. Jeff is my best friend, and the most kind/loving person. I look forward to seeing and talking with them each day. I love, love, love them. :)

mom's birthday!

for mom's birthday this year, we celebrated.

oohhhh boy did we celebrate!

we went to a play in the afternoon.

we went to the Zac Brown Band concert.

we celebrated all day long!

it was so much fun and i'm glad that i got to celebrate my mom's birthday with her. :)

christmas in review

this year i was really excited to go home for christmas.

mom and i got new ornaments for our tree from nathan and jill. we love them!

Kneaders was how we dined for breakfast the next day. and it was divine!

one of the things that i liked about this years christmas, was that it was on a sunday. christmas didn't enhance church at all for me. but church definitely enhanced christmas. usually on christmas, you get the hype over with in the morning and then the rest of the day.... __________.... yeah.
so having it on sunday was really nice because we got up, opened gifts, ate, went to church, came home to eat dinner with family and watch movies. i felt like having christmas on sunday helped to remind me WHY i am having a holiday. i would opt to have church meetings every christmas regardless of if it lands on a sunday or not.

it is my favorite holiday and i am excited for next years christmas holiday already!

The Mandarin

we met up with our favorite Hemmings for a Christmas celebration dinner & gift exchange.
we chose this chinese restaurant that was divine and fast.
we are totally going back!

oh...p.s. i got bangs. :)

Stories For Christmas

the Institute's production. Soooo good!

i had to MC the show... i was friggin out.

but my folkdancers did SO good!

La Jolla Groves

after my math 1050 final i booked it to my mom's to relax.

one of the places we went was a place called La Jolla Gardens.

we invited our cousin, krisitin, to come with us.

because of course we went shopping after.

Random Park City Trip

The 24th of July weekend, we went on a spontaneous day trip to Park City.

Mom's old mission companion, Georgianne, came with us. Then our cousin, Emily, met up with us for lunch. (Pictures of our lunch are to come later.) It was fun doing a spontaneous trip. It was great to be outside and eat great food!

Emily was such a trooper. She had had hip surgery the week before. She was on crutches and was so pleasant about being there. :)

Where we ate, they had made a patio that was right on the street. We were right next to the passing cars, plus we got free entertainment across the street with live music!

Surprise For Mom

the day we found out about our cousins passing, i drove down to surprise my mom and go to dinner.

when i walked into her office, since she wasn't expecting me, it was a complete surprise!

haha! her face was great!

we went to chili's & visited & it was lovely. :)
