Spring Break: Part Two

The rest of my Spring Break was a little less eventful. The first night we got to the hotel, we had to go check in with the convention. As we are walking around the corner by the front desk, the receptionist looks at me..hmm she looks familiar. She looks away... I realize who it is... she whips her head back, and I squeal an "Oh my GOSH!" It was my friend Morgan from high school. She moved down to St. George to go to Dixie State. It was so fun and such a pleasant surprise to see her! We wanted to get together and have some time to catch up so she came and picked me up that Saturday for lunch. We went to this local restaurant called 25th and Main. It is kinda like Cafe Zupa's. It was so great to see her :)

Mom and I went to dinner functions and found some time for shopping (of course). It was fun to be able to spend so much time with my mom. Even though I have moved out, we still are as close as ever. We talk multiple times a day, but it is so great to be with her.

The last night we were there, one of my girlfriends was down in St. George with 2 other friends too! It was decided that we must meet up. I knew my  mom would absolutely adore my friend Alissa, and would probably want to ditch me as her daughter and adopt her instead. They hit it off great. They are both super crafty and outgoing, AND they both hate water (swimming, bathing, etc). Well I guess it is more "terrified" than "hate." We met up at a frozen yogurt place called Menchie's. It was tastey! :)

Overall, it was a great break. I am really glad I had the chance to get away and be on vacation. Can't wait for next year!

Spring Break: Part One

For the last half of my spring break week, mom and I went to St. George. She had a work conference, so I tagged along and was her "guest."

P.s. Happy St. Patricks Day! "Think Green!"

The week before I was talking to a boy in one of my classes and he was going to be down at Zion's the same time. He said in class, "You sould come hiking with us!" I was very excited when he made that comment and told him that would be great & he got my number at the end of class and we crossed our fingers that it would work.

Well....it did! Mom let me borrow her car to make the hour drive to Springdale to go hiking. Trevor (my new friends name) was really nice and made me a sandwich and brought all kinds food. Awesome right?! Yeah, I thought so too! Well the hike was 4 miles up and 4 miles back and pretty steep. It was a rough hike -- like....way super rough for me. Haha! I didn't think I was so out of shape, but hiking with these 3 boys...I am DEFINITELY out of shape. (And I realized why: Trevor is a baseball player, one friend is a pro skateboarder, and the other is a soccer player. OF COURSE I am going to feel out of shape -- they are all athletes!)

I should mention that I have a little crush on this little boy Trevor. He came in the second day of class and I remember thinking, "Hmm...he is really attractive." We talked one other time in class, but that was it. The class we have is Institute of Religion, Book of Mormon to be exact, and he has a vast knowledge of the gospel. It is really impressive...

Anyway, where was I??
....oh right! The hike that nearly killed me and made me look like a fool....right right right.

The last mile and a half was super hard. And I honestly didn't think I would be able to make it. I almost gave up haha, BUT I didn't want to be a wimp in front of "Mr. Baseball Short Stop"...so I kept going. It was sunny and gorgeous outside, but a little chilly and windy. I kept sniffling and he apologized that he forgot tissues. I was really honest and told him that I kept getting these "snot bubbles" (no I am not kidding, and yes I really did get them.)
Classy right? Yeah...

When we got to the top of the mountain, we were eating and standing next to each other and guess what happened....
a snot bubble! That's what happened!
I didn't know if Trevor saw it or not, but I owned it anyway.
I said, "See! There it happened again!"
He said, "Haha! Yeah I'm not gonna lie that was pretty funny!"

I like to make great first impressions, what can I say?

I didn't take any pictures on this little adventure, I was too busy breathing and trying not to fall of the edge of the mountain. (That I almost did too and Trevor nearly got a heart attack. Whoops!) It definitely was a lot of fun. I am glad that Trevor and I actually became friends rather than just acquaintances. He is a lot of fun and is he is easy to talk to. We kept texting the whole weekend and it was great. :) Hopefully I will be able to get my hands on some of the pictures his friend took at some point to share!

p.s. Can you help Trevor and I settle a debate? You girls out there that read this blog, do you eat jerky?
